THE MIGHTY GOD IS JESUS! Part 3

Interestingly, there's evidence the Roman Catholic Church claims responsibility for introducing the Trinitarian idea of baptism.   The Pope's leading adviser on interchurch relationships, Cardinal Augustin Bea, affirmed basic Roman Catholic ties with all Christians - those who baptize using the titles - through baptism.   In Vatican City, on October 15, 1963, he addressed a special reception for 40 Orthodox, Protestant and other observer delegates as "My very dear Brothers in Christ."   He went on to say, "Baptism has established bonds that are indestructible among members of Christendom - bonds that are "stronger than our divisions."   To what did this papal adviser refer?   Could it have been water  baptism?   No, for the rite of water baptism was practiced before the dawn of Christendom.   To what then did he refer?   It couldn't be method, for he was aware that among those whom he addressed were some who practice immersion, and others who followed the Roman method of sprinkling.   It could only be one thing:   the spoken formula for baptism.

The use of the statement, "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit" for initiating baptism was not introduced until post-apostolic times.   Not one of the apostle's of our Lord Jesus was ever aware of the misnomered "Apostle's Creed," nor the "Athanasian Creed."   Both were formulated well after the death of John the Beloved, the last of the twelve apostles to live.   As can be seen by the accompany historical evidences the only formula for New Testament baptism was "In the name of the Lord Jesus," or a derivation thereof.   According to the leading adviser of the Pope of the Roman Church, those who adopt her plural form of baptism are inexorably tied to her.   Alarmingly, it appears that daily, the spirit of ecumenism is drawing this mother of harlot's "departed daughters" ever closer to her.
